We're inviting Deakin students to participate in our upcoming Scavenger Hunt.
Join us on Monday June 21 at 9am to get the first clue!
Here's what you can win:
The lucky winner of our Scavenger Hunt will win this beautiful, limited edition copy of the Grimm's Fairy Tales by the Folio Society. Valued at $120, this is a prize you don't want to miss a chance of winning!
Here's how it works:
The Scavenger Hunt is powered by an app called ActionBound. You can download it on your smart device here before the event itself.
The hunt runs over the inter-trimester break online. You'll have until 11:59pm on Sunday the 11th of July to finish the hunt, so you can make sure you're happy with your answers.
This event is open to all Deakin students, but DUELS members get discounted tickets (see below for more info).
The winner will be contacted before the our Word & Board Game event on Monday the 26th of July.
The Scavenger Hunt is broken into 3 parts:
Part 1 - Library Scavenger Hunt
This part of the hunt is designed to show you hidden gems around the Deakin Library site to help with your studies in the future. Take a look around beforehand to get your bearings for a head start.
Part 2 - Puzzles & Riddles
Love a good word game or want to show off your cryptic clue-solving skills? You'll love this section of our Scavenger Hunt! Expect logic puzzles, find-a-words, and cryptic clues ahead.
Part 3 - Around the House
In this section, you'll have to search your own house based off clues or instructions. Fair warning: you'll have to get a bit creative with some of the answers here. 😉
Parts 1 & 2 are points-based, but Part 3 will be marked by an impartial judge with a good sense of humour.
Best of all, you can do the whole thing from the comfort of your own home! This event is open to members from all campuses. 🙂

1. Register on QPay Scavenger Hunt ticket prices vary depending on your memberships:
$5 for DUELS members
$10 for non-DUELS DUSA members
$15 for non-DUELS non-DUSA members
If you're not already a DUELS member and would like access to the discounted ticket prices for our events, you can join DUELS today here.
Your entry helps us cover the costs of running events like this, such as the QPay fees and the prize. As we grow, we're aiming to run competitions like this in the future for free!
2. Download ActionBound
The app is free and it's how you'll be able to progress in the hunt. The app is easy to use, but if you have any issues, please let one of us know ASAP and we'll be able to help you out.
3. Make sure you have access to DeakinSync Part 1 of the Scavenger Hunt is all conducted in the Deakin library website, so make sure you have no troubles logging in before the hunt begins.
